ToLiss Updates Airbus A340 for X-Plane 11 to Version 1.1

Developer ToLiss released the first major update for their Airbus A340 rendition for X-Plane 11. This update aims to bring new aircraft features, cockpit reworks, bug fixes and XP12 compatibility.

Firstly, future users of X-Plane 12 will be pleased to know that Version 1.1 makes the A340 fully compatible with XP12.

Secondly, the new update brings a rework of the flight deck. This includes cockpit window and seat animations as well as improved 3D switch geometry.

In addition, the update brings many improvements to aircraft systems and behaviour. For example, there is an implementation of 249 different failure modes. Moreover, the ACARS now gives out additional TO and wind data.

Finally, the update is available for downloads from the X-Plane store or the Inibuilds store. The ToLiss A340 is available for purchase on the X-Plane and the Inibuilds store at respective prices of €85.01 and €78.46. The full change log is at the end of the article.

The Airbus A340-600 is the one of the last models of the Airbus A340 series. Able to carry 379 passengers in a three-class cabin layout, the A340-600 can travel up to 13,900 km. This variant aimed to rival Boeing’s 777s and older gen 747s. However, the A340-600 failed to gain as much popularity as expected. This was mainly due to its high fuel consumption and high operational costs. Major operators of the A340-600 include Lufthansa, Iberia and Mahan Air. – Added Filtering and rate limiting for FMGS position for more realistic ND behavior on ADIRU init completion

– Open pax doors or cockpit windows now have an effect on the temperature in the adjacent zone

– Added option to always have the display brightness rotaries starting at the 80% position, even for cold and dark start

Bug Fixes

– Fixed rear fuselage geometry to incorporated sloped windows and cabin floor. Unfortunately this requires rework of all addon liveries with the latest paint kit.

– Corrected trigger condition for NW STRG INOP status message

– Allow regular gear extension with ADR2 data only

– Reenabled constraint editing directly on the FPLN A page

PMDG Updates 737 for MSFS and Previews 737-600

PMDG, a fairly well known developer in the flight sim community has recently released an update for their newly released 737 as well as previewed the 737-600 variant in a recent forum post. Their update post also details their plans for the 737 update schedule and a fairly extensive changelog with the latest update.

The company has stated they intend for small weekly or bi-weekly updates to their 737 and are wanting to provide more frequent updates and progress reports to the community, although this may be subject to change. The post also features details about the latest update, featuring a number of changes and improvements, including updated models and associated textures, a significant update to the sound engine and dozens upon dozens of small tweaks, adjustments and improvements.

The addon can be updated for existing owners in the PMDG Operations Center.

PMDG have also given some previews of the -600 variant of their new 737, in the form of two screenshots and some information about the release. The release of the new variant is anticipated to occur in mid June, and PMDG stated the new variant was behind by seven to nine days. Additionally, PMDG is trying to get a concurrent release between the MSFS marketplace and the PMDG website for the new variant but that is not completely confirmed.

Fenix Sim Releases Patch For The Airbus A320

Saturday morning Captains of the Fenix Airbus A320 woke up to a patch that addressed several issues. This was one of the fastest rollouts of an initial functional patch in flightsim history.

Aamir, Founder and Owner of Fenix said “The aim of this update is to address issues preventing proper use of the product, e.g. installation errors, performance, EFB and display glitches, and expanding controller support.“.

Included in this update is an explanation of how Fenix tested the performance and how the user should handle support issues. Other items in the release, the paintkit for livery artist. They also updated the community regarding payment issues with Paypal and ApplePay. Some of the highlights of the update are.

Magknight Releases New Engine Variant and CDU Improvements for 787

Magknight 787 is not known for being the most accurate depiction of the original aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Nonetheless, the developers are continuously working on the addon, and have yesterday released a new major update, bringing the aircraft to v1.8.

It brings a number of long-awaited features to the recently released 787-8 variant, which wasn’t initially as detailed as the original 787-9. Owners of the 787 for X-Plane can now enjoy a completely new flight model, new engine variant (Trent 1000-G3), and reworked FMOD sounds for the 787-8 variant of the long-haul aircraft.

For both variants (-8;-9), the developers have added new custom CDU pages. Custom FMC (part of the CDU) is probably the most-anticipated feature Magknight is currently working on. With v1.8 of the addon, we can now enjoy three new custom CDU pages and various visual improvements to achieve better authenticity. Unfortunately, no custom FMC just yet.

As like previous world updates the world update is focused on vastly improving the accuracy and beauty of Italy in the simulator.

The update brings a vast amount of hand crafted airports such as Palermo Airport (LICJ) As we as many new point of interests in Italy and Malta like Vatican city and countless others, all which were hand crafted by bespoke developers Gaya Simulations and Orbx. As well as the new hand crafted airports and point of interests. The update also comes with improved photogrammetry in various cities, new bush trips, new landing challenges, and more.

The Italy world update is the ninth instalment in the series of updates aiming to improve various countries by adding new assets specific to different countries as well as hand crafting new airports and points of interest.

The update is free for all Microsoft Flight Simulator users using version and can be downloaded in the content manager in game.

FlightFactor Further Improves A320 Performance

Known for the high system requirements, FlightFactor’s A320 simulation for X-Plane 11 received a new update today focusing on improving the end-user experience.

The new version 1.2.7 of the aircraft, still in BETA, comes with serious optimization steps for the better overall performance of the addon. The developers have also focused on the EFB by reworking some of the assets to achieve better performance while browsing through the interface.

Thus, users should have easier life while using the addon even on slower systems.

Other than that, the update also comes with an array of various fixes concentrating on the general stability of the aircraft. Needless to say, the complete changelog can be found at the end of the article.

If you want to update, you can easily do so through the included X-Updater utility. However, keep in mind, that it is not a new stable version release, however, a beta version release available to all owners.

You can purchase the FlightFactor A320 for X-Plane 11 through the Store for $89.95, or about €85 when in not discount.

FlightFactor is currently far from not active. While working on their addons for X-Plane 12, they have also recently teased the -400 variant of the 767 as a potential expansion to the current 767 for X-Plane.

MSFS World Update: 8 Iberia Released

Following World Update 7 that took place in Australia, the Microsoft Flight Simulator team has yesterday announced the release of World Update 8, this time with focus on the Iberian peninsula.

The update brings a number of landmarks, cities and custom airports throughout Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar. The developers have also introduced new bush trips, landing challenges and discovery flights to get you more familiar with the area.

Cities and airports

The capital of Portugal, Lisbon, has received some much-needed attention besides Malaga, Bilbao, and Coimbra, to name a few out of the six. As for the airports, the company has detailed that there are four new hand-crafted airports in this update. They are:

  • LESU – La Seu d’Urgell Airport
  • LPPI – Pico
  • LPFR – Faro
  • LECO – A Coruna


As for the landmarks, there are 99 new custom points of interest around the Iberian peninsula. Flight simmers can now enjoy views on the pristine Puente Nuevo bridge from the 18th century in Ronda, Sagrada de Família in the centre of Catalonia’s Barcelona, or the oceanarium in Lisbon.

It might not be known by many that the Canary Islands are also part of Spain, although situated west of Morocco. Hence the update also brings new models of the famous local observatory or the Tenerife Concert Hall.

SSG Releases New Cockpit Improvements for 747

The team at SSG has released a new update for their B747-8 Anniversary Edition. The current version is V2.5 this update has been in public beta since the 20th of February. They have announced it in a post on their Facebook page.

In this update, the developers have designed a new cockpit with full 3D and PBR textures, they have also added some details and integrated a new cockpit light design as well as added a functional tiller.

They have also reworked the audio console. On the screenshots, we can see the improvements in the cockpit textures. The team has stated that this update might have an impact on the performance.

The developers have also improved the FMC and the systems. They have improved the LNAV, fixed the false invalid entry in the FIX page and improved the track drawing. The full changelog can be found here.

FlyTampa Releases New Toronto for MSFS Update

FlyTampa has a few days ago released the first update of their recently released rendition of Toronto. The developer announced the update through their Facebook page and other social media.

In this update, the FlyTampa team has focused on various fixes across the whole rendition. For that reason, the changelog is quite rich. The team fixed the PAPI lights at the airport, as well as windsocks. The airport got many new 3D models, which adds to the immersion that the airport is alive. Among those, we can find 3D passengers in Terminal 1, deicing trucks, as well as landside road traffic. Furthermore, FlyTampa changed the runway’s open/close setup, adjusted Skylink train speed, and more.

TorqueSim Updates Cirrus SR20/22, Ready for X-Plane 12

TorqueSim has updated their Cirrus range renditions in the event of X-Plane 12 being released. The products were released 26th of March 2021 and included two planes with two variants of each.

The update includes a vast array of improvements including FMOD sounds and overhauls to the model. Surround sound is now supported and audio compression is fixed, sound space and positioning is reworked and engine and prop sounds are also refined for a more immersive enviroment.

Some bug fixes were involved within the update including the tab fuel option on the SR20 should now work correctly and exterior lights should now work when the “hide 3D details” setting is enabled. Support for simultaneous DFC90 button press functionality is available for the hardware created by RealSimGear.
