Aerosoft has released its latest update to Frankfurt Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, focusing solely on simulator performance. The team have worked hard to deliver version 1.1 with significant optimisation updates.
Aerosoft Frankfurt Update v1.1
Aerosoft have released update v1.1 with performance in mind. Jo, Lukas, and the rest of the team have worked very hard to optimise and deliver a better-performing product for customers. The update has reduced VRAM usage by 1.6 GB along with the optimisation of models, textures, Level of Detail and more. They have, however, stressed that the update does not reduce the quality of the airport.
While 1.6 GB is a significant decrease in usage, Aerosoft has stated that on most systems, you will see less than 1 GB decrease in VRAM usage. Those with lower or mid-range PCs will benefit the most from this optimisation. Those with an Nvidia 4090 or higher, however, likely won’t notice much difference.

Optimisation fixes regarding performance drops when facing Terminal 2 have also been addressed in this update. These FPS drops were largely caused by the city of Frankfurt and the large forest to the north. The update is free for all current customers of Frankfurt Airport via the Aerosoft ONE Installer.
The developers also mentioned at the end about news in regard to their other projects, with information on the A330 NEO and the A340 coming over the next few weeks. You can purchase Frankfurt Airport for MSFS 2020 and 2024 here. For previous Aerosoft releases, you can read here on FSNews.
