Azrsim, known for their precise addons for flight simulation, has released a detailed scenery of Baghdad International Airport (ICAO: ORBI) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 (MSFS2020 and MSFS2024). This release brings Iraq’s largest and most important airport into the sim world with higher realism and performance optimization.

Baghdad International Airport is located approximately 16 km west of downtown Baghdad, Iraq. It is the country’s main international gateway and is also home to Iraqi Airways. The airport serves as a civilian and military facility, with various international and regional flights. ORBI plays an important role in connecting Iraq with destinations in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia through airlines like Emirates, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines. The airport also features a large cargo area and designated military zones, making it a strategic hub in the region.
Detailed, Yet Perfomance Optimized Simulation
The scenery by Azrsim includes detailed terminal buildings, interior modeling, and custom hangars. Static airport vehicles and realistic textures aim to give the airport a lively and authentic feel. High-resolution ground textures, weathered runway and taxiway markings, and a custom apron layout enhance the realism. For the performance: Custom LOD technology was added so the scenery runs smooth on every hardware. Night operations are also well-supported thanks to dynamic lighting across the airport. The developers have also included a dedicated GSX profile for accurate pushback, stand selection, and ground service interactions.
