Emerald Scenery Design took to their Facebook page earlier this week to announce the release of their rendition of the Mini-Max 1500R Sport aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The product was created in collaboration with other developers such as Mykrode, Hans Hartmann, and GotFriends.
About the Mini-Max 1500R Sport
The Mini-Max 1500R Sport is a single-seat, mid-wing, strut-braced, piston-engine kit aircraft in the broader Mini-MAX family created to deliver cost-efficient homebuilt flying. The aircraft falls under the Experimental Amateur-Built (E-AB) design rather than the FAA’s Part 103 ultralight category. It is configured as an open-cockpit, mid-wing, 3-axis controls-based aircraft designed for roughly 40 hp two-cylinder engines. The 1500R Sport has a wingspan of 25 ft, a length of around 15 ft, and a top speed of 75 mph with an average cruise speed of 65 mph. Wayne Ison, who founded the Mini-Max family of aircraft, was a notable figure in the ultralight/homebuilt world and has also been inducted into the EAA Ultralights Hall of Fame. It dates back to the 1980s with the 1100R aircraft, upon which the 1500R Sport is developed. The company has manufactured more than 1800 kits over its long history.

Key Features
Emerald Scenery Design’s 1500R Sport rendition features a 2-stroke choke simulation, including flooding, a breakable prop that can result in engine damage, headphone simulation, and custom Wwise sounds. Further features include multiplayer smoke effects, a toggleable prop spinner, tinted glasses, toggleable chocks, and toggleable pitot tube covers, which can affect airspeed indications if left on. The 1500R Sport also features dynamic vibration simulation for gauges and various parts on the aircraft and VR Motion Control support for Stick, Switches, and Levers. The developer has also included 12 handcrafted liveries as part of the package.

Closing Notes
Emerald Scenery Design’s 1500R Sport is available to purchase on the Emerald Scenery Webstore, the Orbx Store, and the in-sim Marketplaces. The aircraft retails for USD 14.99 including taxes, and purchasing the 2020 version gives simmers access to the 2024 version for free and vice versa for the 2024 version.
