The developer Fenix Simulations shared more information yesterday about the “Big Fenix Update” for their Airbus A320 Series. Initially, this was supposed to be released this week, either on Tuesday or Wednesday. However, the team has decided to release the update today due to its hype.

The information about the release of this update has been posted via the Fenix Simulations Discord server by Aamir, the lead developer, and in the Fenix Simulations blog post, we have been talked through all the details and changes in the aircraft.

This new version of the A320 Family aircraft is almost built from the ground up, including sounds, visual models and even the flight model, ensuring the most realistic experience possible. This is now a Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024-native product, with modular SimObjects and LODs, essentially meaning better performance, while maintaining or improving visual fidelity.

Speaking of the flight model, it is worth mentioning that the Fenix team emphasises using linear axis throughout all controllers. This will ensure realistic behaviour of the aircraft in the air, as well as on the ground.

A new aircraft variant also came into the family, and that is the A319 Sharklets, a sporty version of the A319. It includes CFM engines that are as strong as those on the A320, and the Sharklets also help the aircraft’s flight dynamics. This brings the total number of engine variations in this aircraft family to seven.

Not only has the aircraft been changed, but Fenix’s Livery Manager also got some love and has been completely revamped. Speaking of liveries, all of them were reworked, and fifty new liveries have been added, bringing the total number of liveries available to around 800.

This update is now available for everyone who owns the Fenix A320 Family completely free of charge. If you still haven’t bought this aircraft, you can do so through the Fenix website for approximately €103 for all three current aircraft variants.

A full changelog can be seen in the blog post.
