Developer FlightFX, in collaboration with Xbox, has released the Cessna Citation X for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and soon-to-be-released 2024 version. Xbox posted an official trailer on YouTube, featuring stunning visuals of the jet flying over varied landscapes.
A High-Performance Business Jet
The Cessna Citation X is amongst the fastest business aircraft ever built, possessing a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.92. The aircraft is designed for long-range flights, with a flight range of as much as 3,460 NM and a flight altitude of as much as 51,000 feet. The plane can have a maximum of nine souls on board. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 36,100 pounds, powered by two Rolls-Royce AE3007C1 engines, and a useful load of 14,300 pounds.
System Depth and Flight Modeling
FlightFX has crafted extensively simulated systems like hydraulic, pressurization, electrical, environmental, and anti-ice. The avionics package closely replicates the real Honeywell Primus 2000 system, providing a realistic simulation experience and a flight management system capable of supporting full VNAV in climb, cruise, and descent. It also features a custom auto throttle system, along with winglet and non-winglet models with depending performance effects.


Advanced Electronic Flight Bag
The virtual Citation X is equipped with the VAMS 2.0 Electronic Flight Bag. It has SimBrief for flight planning and supports Navigraph and OpenStreetMap for navigation. Also featured is a load manager, auto throttle selection, cabin config options, and a ground services manager that offers control of covers, chocks, GPU, etc (complementing MSFS2024’s walkaround mode). An active noise reduction option adds even more realism to the in-cockpit experience.
