FSoares has announced a free update to the Itaipu Dam and Iguazu Falls scenery package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The update introduces several new features, visual improvements, and expanded helicopter operations across the region.
The scenery has been refreshed with new elements as well as refinements to existing ones. Key highlights include:
- Completely redone and reanimated Iguazu Falls
- New Helisul Cataratas and Itaipu helipad
- Animated open spillway effect at the dam
- New spillway viewpoint
- Various additional effects, objects, and minor fixes throughout the area
The animated spillway effect is seasonal. To activate it, you simply need to set the simulator date to January or February. More details are available on FSoares’s Facebook, or can be seen in the trailer below:
Compatibility Notes
For MSFS 2020, the scenery is not initially compatible with World Update 19: Brazil. Xbox users will need to uninstall the WU19 POIs to use the package, while PC users can keep the update installed by using the experimental package reordering tool and placing the FSoares scenery at a higher priority. In MSFS 2024, the package works normally on both PC and Xbox with World Update 19 enabled.
