The developer Gaya Studios has, after a long while, released their first standalone scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This time, the developer takes us to one of the busiest and most popular airports in Greece, and that is Corfu Ioannis Kapodistrias Airport (LGKR). Gaya Studios has announced the release just now and has teased the release yesterday in a trailer video posted on Facebook.
This iteration of Corfu International Airport is a native build for the modern Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 engine, utilising modern features such as the Level of Detail (LOD) system for better performance and operation. The scenery is based on an up-to-date layout of its real-world counterpart, and all of that is covered in realistic textures, with material behaviour, weathering, rubber deposits and airport markings. There are also animated custom airport vehicles, unique to Corfu International Airport. The surrounding area is then improved using custom water rendering, with animated boats operating around the island.
Many points of interest are also built into this scenery of Corfu International Airport by Gaya Studios. This includes the Kanoni Viewpoint, Panagia Vlacherna Monastery, the National Stadium, Nisos Restaurant and Café, as well as the world-famous planespotting area.
