HarExperience’s latest scenery release brings Edinburgh Airport (EGPH|EDI) in stunning detail for X-Plane 12. Recently announced on X via the official X-Plane profile, this marks the eleventh scenery rendition by the developer.

About Edinburgh Airport

First opened to commercial traffic in 1947, Edinburgh Airport serves Scotland’s capital and handles nearly 17 million passengers per year from over 150 destinations worldwide. Measuring 2,558 m (8,392 ft) long, Edinburgh Airport has a single runway capable of handling aircraft as large as the Airbus A380. The airport handles a variety of domestic/international, short-haul, and long-haul operations from more than 30 airlines, all operating out of Edinburgh’s single passenger terminal.

About HarExperience Edinburgh

HarExperience has handcrafted Edinburgh exclusively for X-Plane 12, taking advantage of the simulator’s rendering and scenery technology. The scenery features detailed custom ground textures, markings, taxiway lines, stand markings, and signage, alongside a fully up-to-date layout, built with vatsim and realistic operations in mind. They have accurately recreated the main terminal, along with other airport buildings, hangars, and surrounding infrastructure, all covered in high-resolution PBR textures. 3D models are all optimized to minimize performance impact, with the textures receiving the same care and attention.

For nighttime operations, custom night lighting has been added inside the airport terminal as well as on the apron. Surrounding landslide areas haven’t been overlooked; car parks, roads, and other structures have been placed to create a more immersive feel when departing and approaching. HarExperience has ensured the scenery is compatible with other scenery products such as ORBX TrueEarth and Map Enhancement. Support for user-created orthophotos is also stated; however, none of these are required, so users who keep their scenery mostly default are covered too.

Closing remarks.

HarExperience Edinburgh is now available for purchase from the simMarket Store and the X-Plane.org Store for around €19. Furthermore, if you would like to read more of our X-Plane 11/12 coverage, you can view it here.
