IGTEI Releases Doha Hamad International Airport for X-Plane 12

New studio IGTEI releases its first scenery, Doha Hamad International (OTHH) for X-Plane 12, with 120 jetways, weathered aprons and night lighting.

A new scenery studio, IGTEI, has released its first product: Doha Hamad International Airport (OTHH) for X-Plane 12. The release was announced in a thread on the X-Plane.org forum and the scenery is listed on simMarket as available from 10 October 2026.

Hamad International is Qatar’s main gateway and the home hub of Qatar Airways. It replaced the older Doha International Airport and sits on the coast, partly on reclaimed land. Its large terminal, with a distinctive wave-shaped roof, handles a heavy mix of long-haul traffic. As this is IGTEI’s debut, there is no earlier work from the studio to compare it with.

According to the developer, the scenery covers the complete passenger terminal with its wave roof, concourses A to E and the Orchard hub. The raised gate blocks come with stair cores and gate-number boards, and there are 120 jetways matched to the real stands. The Emiri terminal, the control tower, the mosque and more than 270 support buildings are said to stand on their real footprints. Landside, the airport has roads with street lighting, date palms, car parks and a rock-armoured island coastline.

IGTEI puts particular weight on the aprons. The concrete and asphalt are photo-based and include slab joints, tyre marks, pushback arcs and oil stains, and the team says every stand is weathered differently. Ground equipment such as tugs, loaders and catering trucks is staged at the contact stands, while static aircraft sit on the maintenance aprons away from the parking positions. At night the airport is fully lit with ground light pools.

On the operational side, runways follow the Qatar AIP, with mixed-mode parallel runways and departures split between east and west. Parking is airline-specific, with Qatar Airways on the contact gates and separate stands for foreign, regional and cargo carriers. The developer says the textures are compressed and detail levels are distance-based to keep performance in check.

The scenery is version 1.0.0, and IGTEI says free updates will follow, with fixes for any reported issues planned for the first one. An official trailer is on YouTube. Doha Hamad International Airport for X-Plane 12 costs around €34 on simMarket.
