Impulse Simulations Releases Townsville Landmarks V2

Impulse Simulations has released Townsville Landmarks V2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Impulse Simulations has released Townsville Landmarks V2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This release is an updated version of their original Townsville release and brings updated models, many new models and the latest imaging. The developers have also teased the Australian domestic airport, Newcastle (YWLM).

Townsville Landmarks V2

Townsville is home to one of the largest army barracks in Australia, the 3rd and 11th Brigades, and is one of Australia’s largest urban centres. The original V1 release of Townsville Landmarks brought a range of accurate and detailed landmarks found around Townsville. They all featured PBR texturing and included handcrafted high-rises.

Over 150 hand-placed 3D models were included along with custom vegetation, multiple points of interest, night lighting, custom marinas and much more. After hearing all the feedback on the original release, the team at Impulse Simulations worked on improving the product to a quality standard that the team were happy with.

Townsville Landmarks V2 brings many new 3D models, hand-placed around the area. It also includes a remodel and re-texturing of any model that was not up to standard, bringing the old models up to the current standards that they have stuck with since the release of Canberra Airport. They have also used the latest imaging to create the most up-to-date landmarks possible.

Newcastle Airport Teased (YWLM)

The team at Impulse Simulations have also teased their latest project coming soon to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Not much is known about it as we have only got some teaser images of the airport. There is no price or release date, just some teased images posted on their Facebook.

Impulse Simulations has also mentioned that they will provide an update on Perth Airport soon once enough of it is done. Currently, their release schedule is Newcastle, a Secret Project, Townsville, Perth then Darwin. As mentioned, a secret project is underway, but not much else has been said.

You can buy Townsville Landmarks V2 on their website for $18.95 AUD. It is compatible with both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. However, users on MSFS 2024 may experience terrain differences at close distances. The Australia World Update also needs to be installed.
