The developer iniBuilds has taken to their Discord server to announce a new scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, this time taking us to Southern Europe, to the small island of Malta, where the Luqa International Airport (LMML) is located.
In the short development update on the iniBuilds forums, the development team talks about the progress of the development. Earlier this year, the team went to the Malta Airport to gather lots of references to work with, ensuring the recreation of a detailed rendition of this airport. The team has especially focused on the atmosphere, as the terminal is a mix of classic architecture and modern technology.
Ever since then, the development has progressed well, and a detailed terminal interior has already been recreated. There will also be custom ground textures, signage, dynamic lighting and local airport clutter, enhancing the realistic feel even further. The iniBuilds team also promises to optimise this scenery well, utilising modern MSFS 2024 SDK features, like LOD. An official GSX profile, as with any other iniBuilds scenery, will be included.
The iniBuilds team has also shared some in-simulator screenshots of the scenery, which show both the exterior and the interior of the airport. In these images, we can notice the custom buildings, the details of the terminal, and enhanced night lighting. The surrounding area is also included, with hangars, a nearby hotel and cafés.
The release date has not been made public yet, though it is certain that we won’t wait long for this Malta Luqa Airport rendition, as the iniBuilds team said that the scenery is coming soon.
