iniBuilds took to YouTube to release a trailer for their rendition of Wolf’s Fang Runway (AT98) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, offering simmers the unique opportunity to experience one of the most unexplored regions in the world. With this release, iniBuilds aims to bring this iconic Antarctic airfield to the virtual skies of MSFS 2024.

About Wolf’s Fang Runway

Wolf’s Fang Runway is an airfield situated in the Norwegian Territory in Antarctica. It is a blue-ice runway that is just under two miles long, cut straight into glacial ice, estimated to measure several hundred meters in depth. It has a hardened surface that allows aircraft like the DC-3, as well as larger airliners like the A340 and 767, to operate in conditions you won’t usually find these aircraft operating in.

The airfield is the logistical heart of Antarctic expeditions, linking the continent to Cape Town, South Africa, on a flight of almost 2,600 nautical miles across the Southern Ocean. The airfield has scheduled flights during the peak season with Hi Fly, a Portuguese charter airline, operating their A340-300 to transport participants of expeditions to and from the white desert from Cape Town in South Africa.

Significant Features

The runway has been textured with footprints and vehicle tracks being modeled. Custom lighting has been included for this airport. Handcrafted elements like static aircraft, vehicles, and camps are scattered around the runway of the Antarctic airstrip. The layout is up to date, reflecting the airstrip’s current layout. The scenery benefits from optimized performance thanks to the developer employing the latest MSFS 2024 SDK features.

Out Now

Wolf’s Fang Runway is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. You can obtain a copy of this scenery from the iniBuilds store for free. It can be installed via the iniManager. For information about iniBuilds’ latest offerings, check out their category on FSNews.
