Flight simulation enthusiasts can now explore the island (mainly the airport) of Kos with the new Kos International Airport (LGKO) scenery add-on, developed by Atelic. It was created for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS2024) and MSFS2020 and aims to capture the essence of the Greek island. Atelics’s goal is to offer a realistic and immersive experience.
A Gateway to the Aegean Sea
Kos International Airport “Ippokratis” serves as a hub for travelers wanting to visit the Greek island. Located about 24 km southwest of Kos Town, the airport handled both domestic and international flights, with over 3 million passengers annually in 2024, especially during the busy summer season. Its single runway (14/32) is nearly 2.4 kilometers long and is used for daily operations by many airframes.

Detailed and Authentic Design
The Kos International Airport add-on brings a range of features that enhance realism. From handcrafted airport areas to the terrain, the scenery is crafted to provide an immersive flying experience. The airport layout is adjusted to reflect real-world changes, including custom taxiway signs and ground vehicles. Pilots can enjoy stunning views during the final, especially over the iconic hotels on Runway 32’s glideslope.
Other notable details include high-quality PBR textures, realistic night lighting, and various buildings outside the airport grounds, such as a school and a fuel station.
Technical Information
The Kos airport scenery is available both via the Contrail App and website and is compatible with both Windows and the latest versions of MSFS. It requires a 1.19 GB download and occupies 3.23 GB after installation. This scenery is priced at €15.99 (excluding VAT).
