Laminar Research, the developer of X-Plane, has launched an official community forum for the simulator. The company announced the X-Plane Forums in a welcome post on the new site, and says they are open now.
According to Laminar Research, a more formal space for communication is one of the most common requests it hears from customers. The company describes the forums as a new community service built for users to connect, share knowledge, get help and talk directly with the people behind X-Plane. Until now, much of the community’s discussion has taken place on third-party websites and social media, so an official home run by the developer is a notable change.

The forums are divided into dedicated areas. These cover X-Plane news and announcements, general discussion, and aircraft, scenery and hardware. Further sections are set aside for user-to-user support, beta and development discussions, tutorials and guides, and a showcase for videos, streams, projects and user creations.
Laminar Research says it wants the forums to work as a long-term resource. Discussions are organised and searchable, so that newer and more experienced users can find earlier answers. The company also says members of the X-Plane team will take part alongside developers, creators, enthusiasts and pilots from across the community, giving users another way to reach the team directly.

The forum is accessible free of charge. The forums can be found at the official X-Plane community site, where Laminar Research invites users to join the conversation.
