Leonardo Software has been around in the fligth simulation community for over a decade now mainly focusing on the ESP platform – Prepar3D and Flight Simulator X product ranges. They are nowadays most known for their rendition of an McDonnell Douglas MD-80, reffered to as “Fly the Maddog X”.

In a post through their forums, the developers have shared two previews of the aircraft in the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. This is an important milestone for the developer as it is the first time they have publicly mentioned and confirmed the MD-80 development for the new platform.

Leonardo Software has stated, that with their previous experience with the aircraft, they are optimistic about delivering a good replica of the historic aircraft to the platform. As they as well stated, there is no release date set yet as they have a long journey ahead. The same applies to the pricing details.
