LevelUP Teases New 737NG Update for X-Plane 12

LevelUP teases a new 737NG update for X-Plane 12, confirming Stage 2 progress and new team members for flight and 3D model work.

LevelUP, the team behind the 737NG series for X-Plane, has returned with a set of updates for Version 2 of the 737NG series for X-Plane 12. The update confirms continued work on Stage 2 of the aircraft’s development and introduces additional team members working on the flight model and 3D model of the aircraft.

Team Status

The development team has announced the addition of two new contributors to the project. Jochen Heiden, who had previously been working on flight model improvements and has now officially joined the team and will continue that work as part of LevelUP. Also joining is SnailSandwich, whose 3D modelling experience for X-Plane addon aircraft is expected to support the project’s development.

While work on Stage 2 of the 737NG Series remains ongoing, LevelUP says progress has been slower than expected. According to the team, this is largely due to the amount of time consumed by the remodelling of the cockpit and changing project scope. Despite the delay, ahead of the larger Stage 2 release, LevelUP plans to issue an intermediate update for the aircraft. The upcoming V2.S1.50 will introduce a revised flight model intended to improve handling accuracy, as well as further enhancements to the aircraft’s exterior 3D model and sound package.

Previews

Alongside the development update, LevelUP also shared a number of newly rendered previews showcasing its updated cockpit model. The images highlight the continued remodelling work taking place across the flight deck.

The above renders, shared in the LevelUP Discord, reflect the work done by RunawayBot. While the images are still marked as work in progress, they give a clearer indication of the level of detail LevelUP is aiming for as development on Stage 2 continues.
