miniCockpit, the company behind a series of mini hardware products for a range of flight simulators, have teased their next product. miniOVHD is a smaller, more compact version of the overhead panel found in Airbus aircraft. It follows the companies previous miniEFIS and miniFCU.
miniCockpit’s Previous Products
The company has previously released a flight control unit 80% of the size of the real FCU. This was also a very low-priced piece of hardware at the time. It featured the same Airbus blue, orange backlighting and dials and switches to control speed, altitude and heading. The miniFCU was followed by the release of the miniEFIS.

The miniEFIS brought a smaller unit of the navigation display controls. These are the buttons used to control how the navigation display looks and works. It also included the QNH switch and the chrono push button. The product was again made in the same Airbus blue with accurate backlighting. A glare shield was later released to mount the EFIS and FCU together in one piece.
miniOVHD Teaser
Originally teased back in March 2024 alongside miniCockpit’s roadmap, the miniOVHD presented a panel of carefully chosen overhead controls. These controls included the landing lights, taxi lights, APU start buttons, seatbelt signs, anti-ice and some other external lights. It also featured the same Airbus blue and orange backlighting.
This latest teaser looks to be similar to what was shown back in March last year from the overhead panel. It is only a side profile of the unit. The only other information that was teased was an announcement or release date of July 2025. It’s unclear if this will be a release or when more information will be shared.
