The latest release from MK Studios delivers their highly anticipated rendition of Miami Airport into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, bringing one of North America’s busiest airline hubs to the sim. The rendition was officially announced last month via their social media channels, which previewed its exterior modeling.
About Miami International Airport
First opened in 1928 by Pan American Airways, Miami International Airport (KMIA | MIA) was initially named Pan American Field and was the airline’s first international hub. Today, the airport is known simply as Miami International and serves as one of the busiest passenger and cargo hubs in the United States, hosting more than one thousand flights per day to more than 190 destinations worldwide. In 2025, Miami International saw more than 55 million passengers and handled 3.5 million tons of cargo. The airport sits on a footprint of approximately 3,300 acres and features 4 runways with 3 passenger terminals, divided into 6 concourses with 131 gates. Miami International can handle aircraft as large as the Airbus A380 and regularly hosts Boeing 747 aircraft.
