Orbx Releases Emerald Airport for MSFS

The developer Orbx has released a new scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, this time, taking us again to the heart of the developer’s country of origin, Australia, to Emerald Airport.

Emerald Airport (YEML) is located in Central Queensland and is mostly serviced by regional carriers, such as Virgin Australia and Qantas Link, with the most flights going to Brisbane. Despite its regional purpose, the airport has two runways and is constantly being improved, as in the last decade, over 15 million Dollars were spent on a new terminal and improvements.

This scenery is developed by an indie developer Rob Byrne, who is also responsible for airports like Mackay and Gladstone, both located in Australia. This developer shows his patience and dedication with the amount of detail he brought to this scenery, including the detailed exterior and interior of the terminal and surrounding buildings. There are custom ground markings and decals all around the airport, which lift the simulated experience even further.

Speaking of the surrounding area, you can easily access the airside by going through the terminal interior seamlessly, and the whole area is covered in 15cm/px aerial imagery. The developer added static parked cars and other objects to make the landside feel more lifelike.
