The release of Mircosoft Flight Simulator 2024 is around the corner, with some uncertainty about add-on compatibility. Multiple developers are coming forward to make statements about the compatibility of their older products for MSFS 2024. Orbx recently shared its plans for their add-ons after the release of MSFS 2024.
Orbx Plan for Add-on Compatibility in MSFS 2024
Orbx posted this information via their forums. In this post, they shared their commitment to ensure all their previous add-ons from MSFS 2020 are fully compatible with MSFS 2024. It is mentioned that making all add-ons compatible with MSFS 2024 will take some time. They will prioritize the newer releases and some of their most popular releases to be compatible first. The developer expects a smooth transition during this process.
The developer also shared their plans to upgrade some older add-ons to the new simulator. They plan on charging a fee to upgraded add-ons which was only mentioned its a small amount. This upgrade will take advantage of the new features introduced in MSFS 2024 for their older add-ons. Their developer partners will follow the same upgrade plan as Orbx.
