Rotate, a developer behind a well-known MD-80 rendition for X-Plane 11, has today shared via their website a set of previews showcasing the FMC System in the upcoming MD-11.
After a few months of silent work, we can now show some screenshots featuring the MCDUs. Around 30 individual pages were put in the roadmap, and most of them are already operative.
Rotate has advanced a lot in the aircraft systems. “The autopilot is now waiting for tuning”. The next thing Rotate wants to focus on is the aerodynamics, navigation, and performance.
As can be seen in the images, MCDUs can be independently connected to onside/offside FMCs, or together to the STBY NAV/RAD mode. Both primary and secondary flight plans are available, as well as alternative destination flight plan and the possibility to enter custom user waypoints.
Last time Rotate mentioned the MD-11 development was back in September 2019 when they shared previews of the MD-11 cockpit. The aircraft development was announced back in May 2017.
