SHADESCENE has released their rendition of Kota Bharu Airport (WMKC), available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. With this release, virtual pilots can enjoy flying to one of the key regional airports in Malaysia. This release follows previous releases by the developer, such as their Langkawi International Airport for MSFS.

About Kota Bharu Airport

Kota Bharu Airport (WMCK), located in Kelantan on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. With an annual capacity of approximately 1.5 million passengers, it was initially a Royal Air Force base during World War II. It was converted into a civilian airport, undergoing major expansions since then. Notable developments include the opening of a terminal in 2002 and subsequent upgrades since 2024, which have increased the number of passengers served to 4 million annually.

SHADESCENE’s Kota Bharu Features

The terrain has been shaped with terraforming to match the appearance of the real-world airport. Custom-made 3D models of the terminal, hangars, and other airport facilities are modelled to a detailed and accurate extent. The runways and taxiways are also hand-made with realistic ground markings and textures corresponding to their real-world counterpart.

The lighting of the scenery includes centreline, edge, and runway lights, which would produce clear visibility during day and night work. Full day and night lighting of the airport environment has been modelled, giving the airport an extra layer of immersion, no matter what time of day you fly in or out of the airport.

SHADESCENE’s rendition of Kota Bharu Airport for MSFS 2020 and 2024 is now available on simMarket for €11.99. To know more about other products SHADESCENE has to offer, feel free to check out our section on SHADESCENE here on FSNews.
