ShortFinal Design Announces Freeware Hakodate for XP11

ShortFinal Design, also known as SFD, has today taken to their social networks to announce the development of a new freeware scenery covering the Hakodate Airport (RJCH) for X-Plane 11. Serving mainly regional flights and few international flights, the airport is located just next to the city of Hakodate in Hokkaido, Japan.

The release of the scenery is expected to happen in about a month and the scenery will be released as freeware. Nothing more specific was shared.

Regarding the features, SFD has been learning to work with Substance Painter for the past few months therefore the scenery serves as a testing ground for that. Aside from usual features, we should expect much more detailed 3D models with proper PBR materials.

I’ve spent the past few months learning Substance Painter (which is basically the industry standard for creating PBR textures) and this airport has been my testing ground for that.
