Through the website and YouTube channel of iniBuilds, SimSolutions have officially announced to be developing their rendition of a Piper J3 Cub for X-Plane 11. As their previous Diamond DA40NG simulation, the addon promises to be a faithful recreation of the real aircraft.
Users will be able to enjoy fully modelled interior and exterior with 4K textures enhanced with PBR materials. This will help to achieve an immersive visual experience at any time of the day. Further, as with their previous addon, SimSolutions have integrated Avitab into the flight deck, and toggleable covers and static tent model on the ground.
It’s also worth mentioning, that this time SimSolutions have developed custom FMOD sounds for the addon in-house and did not outsource that to FTSim+ as they did last time. The developers are also intending to release three separate variants of the aircraft within the one addon.
Hence, for one price, flight simmers will be able to enjoy flying with standard tires, larger tundra tires, and floats for some hydroplane operations.
The exact price and release date are yet to be announced. In the meantime, you can watch the official trailer of the addon from iniBuilds below.
For those unfamiliar with the aircraft, Piper J3 Cub is a two-seat general aviation aircraft with STOL capabilities. Piper has manufactured over 20,000 units between 1938 and 1947. The aircraft was then later on replaced by the Super Cub which was in production until 1995. Nowadays, pilots often use them for bush flying and exploring rural areas.
