SimWorks Studios has released a development update regarding their 727 project for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 via their Discord server. Previously at FSExpo 2024, they showcased the first image of this new aircraft alongside their development partner FSReborn. They also confirmed at FSExpo that multiple variants of the 727 will be available with this add-on. In this recent update, they shared new pictures of the development. SimWorks Studios also shared new information about the aircraft’s features.
Features of the 727
The 727 from SimWorks Studios is currently being developed in collaboration with FSReborn. This add-on will bring all the immersive features that FSReborn products offer. The aircraft will also include a pack with immersive effects made by Parallel42. They will implement a combination of old steam gauges and an FMC/MFD combo for the cockpit. This is done to encourage both old and modern pilots to fly this aircraft. The add-on is being designed exclusively for MSFS2024 and will take advantage of all the new features of this simulator.
The add-on is being created using 3D scans of actual pictures of the 727. This approach accurately represents all the aircraft’s details within the simulator. The development team is also utilizing various references and information from the community to develop this add-on.
Base Pack and Expansions
SimWorks Studios will initially release the 727-200 ADV in a passenger configuration, being the base pack for the add-on. Because this is a multi-stage project, the other models of this aircraft will be released later in a paid expansion pack for the base pack. These expansions are going to be installed on top of the base package. The developer assures that each of the expansions is going to be priced affordably. The different models included with this add-on are:
- -200F
- -100
- VIP
- Fire Response
- Oil spill control
- Zero-G ship
SimWorks Studios stated that this add-on is still in early development. However, they are excited to finally show their progress with this project, being more of a love project for the developers.
