ToLiss Announces VOA Partnership for X-Plane Instructor Station

ToLiss has announced a partnership with Voa to build an Instructor Operator Station with an iPad EFB for X-Plane, coming soon in four versions.

ToLiss Simulation Solutions has announced a partnership with Voa, a company working on professional flight simulators, to bring a new Instructor Operator Station (IOS) to the flight sim community. The announcement was made in a Facebook post. According to ToLiss, the tool is meant for X-Plane.

ToLiss is best known for its Airbus aircraft for X-Plane, which are popular with both home and professional users. An instructor operator station is the tool used in real-world simulators for training. It lets an instructor control the session from outside the cockpit, for example by setting up scenarios, weight and balance, weather or introducing failures. ToLiss also stressed that IOS here means Instructor Operator Station, not Apple’s iOS.

The developer describes Voa as a reliable, experienced team for professional users looking to certify their simulators. The IOS will also include one of the community’s most requested features, an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), which will be available on an iPad. In reply to a user’s question in the comments, ToLiss said an Android tablet version will follow as well.

ToLiss says the IOS is coming soon in four versions: Gaming, Home Sim, Pro and Pro Certified. The aim is for there to be an option whether users fly for fun or train before sitting in a real aircraft. A ToLiss representative added in the comments that a version will be accessible to all users, from gaming setups to certified simulators.

Further features were not detailed as of this moment. The website of VOA.aero, though, states that their software is read for certified flight simulators, for example, by including QTG tools used to verify the simulator behaviour compared to the real aircraft.

The IOS is not available yet, and ToLiss says more details are coming soon. Neither a price nor a release date has been announced, and the post gives no information on what each version will include.
