Wing42 Releases B247D for MSFS

The team at Wing42 has recently released their rendition of the Boeing 247D for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The add-on features a super realistic flight model developed by an aerodynamics expert and verified by pilots. Thanks to this, the user can fly with the aircraft in an old-school manner. The developers have modelled all the systems.

The developers at Wing42 have even simulated the real engine start-up procedure. The user can hand-crack the engine himself or ask the ground crew to do it through the clipboard. The virtual clipboard is used to load the aircraft, control the groundcrew or even provide key reference data to the flight. The aircraft comes with nine liveries from all over the world. This gives the user even more options of flights.

Many experts consider the Boeing 247D as the first modern aircraft. It had many new functions for the 30s, such as retractable landing gear and autopilot. It completed its first flight on the 8th of February 1933.

The Wing’s 42 Boeing B247D is available for purchase through Wing42’s website or the Microsoft Flight Simulator marketplace for 17,00 €. If you wish to learn more about the development of this add-on I suggest you have a look at my other article.
