You finally found the time and fired up the sim. You’ve probably already decided on which of your favorite airliners or bush planes you’re going to fly, too. Then it dawns on you that you once again have to go through the deceptively tedious process of choosing a departure and arrival airport pair that meets your sim session requirements, or pinning down where your next virtual backcountry adventure will unfold. A new site, WingRally, presents itself as just the solution to this conundrum.
Touting itself as “your personal dispatcher,” this tool looks to streamline and simplify the process of finalizing your next sim mission. WingRally requires no local app installation and is entirely web-based. It’s in public beta, labelled version 0.12.1 at the time of writing, and is currently completely free to use with no sign-up needed. An account is required, though, to take full advantage of the SimBrief dispatch and import feature, which will remain part of the free version of the service even upon full release, the site promises. Other features of WingRally Free include personal mission generation, the ability to quick-select your favorite airports and add them to collections, and a limited flight history.

WingRally sets itself apart by allowing users to select a training focus for their mission. Crosswind landings, managing airliner automation, Garmin 1000 mastery, and hand-flying are some of the skills that WingRally can generate a mission to help support, develop, and put into practice. Users can also choose to hide the destination, or both the destination and origin until after accepting the mission, if preferred. Apart from connecting to SimBrief Dispatch, WingRally missions can also be exported as .JSON or .PLN files.
While it’s completely free for now, a paid WingRally Pro version will come later and includes perks such as future tools to facilitate connection to your favorite simulator, advanced profiles for aircraft and airports, and a full flight history. The paid tier will also feature mission planning with advanced parameters for multi-leg trips, tours, and campaigns. Those looking to get a taste can try out advanced multi-leg trip planning now, as it is enabled during beta as a preview.

You can put the free beta version of the tool to the test now at WingRally.com. WingRally Pro will come at a later, yet unpublished, date and will cost €4.99 monthly, or €39 per year. However, pricing has not been finalized, as indicated on the site, and will be confirmed before the official launch of the full release version.
