3TIPOS Releases Carrasco Airport (SUMU) for MSFS

3TIPOS releases Carrasco International Airport (SUMU), Montevideo, for MSFS 2020 and 2024 compatibility, with modelled interiors and night lighting.

The developer 3TIPOS has released its rendition of Carrasco International Airport (SUMU) in Montevideo, Uruguay, for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The scenery is listed on SimMarket as an MSFS 2020 product that is also compatible with MSFS 2024.

Carrasco is Uruguay’s main international gateway, serving Montevideo from the east of the city. The airport is best known for its modern terminal, which opened in 2009 and has a long, sweeping curved roof designed by the Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly. It handles regional services within South America as well as longer international routes, and it also sees private and general aviation traffic. That mix makes it a useful destination for flights of many kinds in the region.

The developer says the scenery focuses on the airport’s distinctive architecture, with modelled interiors and night lighting meant to add atmosphere to arrivals and departures. 3TIPOS presents it as a destination for regional routes, international services or private aircraft alike. The description is brief and does not go into detail on ground textures, animated elements or surrounding areas, so it is not yet clear how far the package goes beyond the terminal and its lighting. Flight simmers can only assume a realistic recreation of the current ground layout is present.

One point worth noting is the compatibility. According to the developer, the scenery was built natively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and works in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, but it is not a native MSFS 2024 edition. Users of the newer simulator should keep that in mind when comparing it with sceneries built specifically for MSFS 2024.

Carrasco International Airport by 3TIPOS is available for around €20 on SimMarket.
