LatinVFR has previously announced that their first scenery to the new simulator would be Miami (KMIA). The first batch of previews was shared today on their Facebook page. A single preview was previously shared (see image above). It is the first of at least two (Bradley (KBDL) being the other) sceneries the company previously developed for Prepar3D that would be created for Microsoft Flight Simulator as well.
Miami International Airport is one of the three main airports serving the Miami area, besides Fort Lauderdale (KFLL) and Palm Beach (KPBI). Miami is the biggest of the three. It served more than 45 million passengers in 2019. It has many regional, national and intercontinental connections. Miami International is also a hub for American Airlines.
However, Miami is also known for its cargo operations. It is a hub for an impressive seven cargo airlines with 96 delivery service companies involved. FedEx, UPS and DHL are the US’ biggest delivery service companies and together have the majority of the market share. But it’s not only domestic freight that visits Miami. The airport is the primary connecting point between South-America and the US.
It was interesting to see that LatinVFR released a, albeit short, feature list for this scenery. It’s not something that every developer has done for MSFS sceneries. The airport is created for MSFS natively, that means that it’s not a simple port-over or conversion. It also features customized jetways and full PBR on all the models. In the comments, they confirm that the airport is “very very optimized”.
Users of the P3D version will get a discount, but that will only be available on the LatinVFR Webshop, the PC Aviator store or on SimMarket. The addon will also be sold on the MSFS Marketplace, but no discount codes can be applied there. More detailed information and a release will follow soon.
