A New World Update Covering Central Europe Released

Asobo Studio released a new World Update yesterday, covering Central European countries and some Balkan countries. World Update 14 is now available via Flight Simulator’s Marketplace. A comprehensive announcement was made via the Flight Simulator website.

Countries That Can Be Found in World Update 14

World Update 14 brings improvements to Central European and Balkan countries. In an initial trailer found on Youtube, Asobo Studio showed off the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Geographically speaking, only the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary are located in Central Europe, the rest is in a region called West Balkans.

Points of Interest in World Update 14

There are 103 points of interest in this update, 18 of which can be found in Czechia, 15 in Slovakia, 19 in Hungary, 15 in Slovenia, 23 in Croatia and 13 in Bosnia-Herzegovina. These points of interest cover churches, castles, and TV and radio towers. There is also full-coverage aerial imagery with digital elevation data that were freshly assembled from Bing data.

Custom Airports

There are also custom airports available in this package created by Gaya Simulations. In total, there are six of them, covering Karlovy Vary Airport (LKKV) in Czechia, Poprad-Tatry (LZTT) in Slovakia, Pécs-Pogány (LHPP) in Hungary, Zagoje ob Savi Airport (LJZA) in Slovenia, Rijeka International (LDRI) in Croatia and Prijedor Urije Airport (LQPD) in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Custom Cities

Lastly, there are also custom cities, created using Microsoft Maps & Local in collaboration with Vexcel. In total, there are ten different cities that received a massive update, that are Prague, Brno and Plzeň in the Czech Republic, Budapest in Hungary, Ljubljana and Maribor in Slovenia, Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia, Sarajevo and Banja Luka in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Lastly, there are also three different discovery flights to reveal the wonders of Prague, Sarajevo and Budapest. In addition, there are landing challenges at Split Airport with A320neo, Zagorje with Pilatus PC12 and Poprad-Tatry with Airbus A310. The update also includes four bush trips called “Czech Route”, “Northeast Adriatic”, “Danube Journey” and “Carpathian Journey”.
