About Oslo-Gardermoen Airport

Oslo Airport (Oslo Lufthavn), alternatively referred to as just Gardermoen is the international airport serving the city of Oslo, Norway. The airport is located 19 nautical miles northeast of Oslo, at Gardermoen at the border of municipalities Nannestad and Ullensaker. A major hub for Norwegian Air Shuttle, Scandinavian Airlines, and Widerรธe, it is served by various other airlines and is connected to 26 domestic and 158 international destinations.

The airport location was first used by the Norwegian Army in 1940 with the first military airport facilities built during the 1940s. It remained a secondary reserve airport and an airport for chartered flights until it was shuttered in 1998 and the current, all-new airport opened at Gardermoen costing 11.4 billion Norwegian kroner (NOK).
