Aerosoft Releases Split Airport for X-Plane 12

The Aerosoft team has released Split Airport for X-Plane 12 bringing new features

The Aerosoft team has released a highly anticipated X-Plane 12 version of their scenery package for Split Airport. This standalone X-Plane 12 release is packed with enhanced features and a host of exclusive new additions to the scenery, which was originally developed for X-Plane 11.

Features of Aerosoft Split Airport for X-Plane 12

The scenery package includes Split Airport (LDSP), Resnik Seaport (LDSR), and the decommissioned Divulje Military Base now serving as a helipad (LDHD). The terminal building and ground reflect the airport’s state as of 2020. All buildings and airport objects are accurately placed and have high-definition textures for both daytime and nighttime flights.

Additional features exclusive to X-Plane 12 include:

A custom Ortho4XP patch file is also included in the scenery. The airport is compatible with default X-Plane AI traffic and the World Traffic 3 plugin. Animated jetways require the Scenery Animation Manager (SAM) Plugin to be installed.

Information About Split Airport

Split St. Jerome Airport (ICAO: LDSP, IATA: SPU) was Croatia’s second-busiest international airport in 2024. It has a 2,550m (8,366ft) long runway and a modern passenger terminal. It is situated next to a military base and a seaport along the coast of Kaštela Bay, 19km from Split.

Split Airport is known for its RNAV (Area Navigation) Visual approach to Runway 23. At an altitude of 2,000 feet above sea level, pilots must take manual control of the aircraft. They rely on visual references and their situational awareness to execute a visual turn and descent to the runway threshold. When the conditions are right, you can attempt the approach yourself in the simulator. Using this scenery will craft a more true-to-life experience.
