The Aerosoft team has just released an update for their Düsseldorf Airport scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The updated version v1.0.1 implements various visual improvements, additional support for GSX, as well as a unique feature designed for General Aviation and helicopter pilots.
Updates And New Features
Following the release of Düsseldorf Airport in April, the team at Aerosoft addressed a series of fixes, visual enhancements and upgrades across the airport, improving both its performance and appearance within the simulator. Adjustments were made to the airport layout, including Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) data, taxiway signage, runway lighting and surrounding buildings. These updates ensure that the airport layout is up-to-date, enhancing its realism for all pilots.
Aerosoft Airport Düsseldorf v1.0.1 also brings the following improvements:
- Added emissive texture maps to surrounding office buildings
- Beacon lights added to jetways
- Level Of Detail adjustment on airport fence models
- Missing bus gate decals added on Bravo stands (B01-B11)
- Resolved issues with terraforming
- Decal popping on cargo containers fixed
- New temporary building added next to stand V53 (Cargo Terminal)
- Fixed issue with jetway pillars not contacting ground on some stands
- Texture size optimized for performance
Among the host of upgrades brought to the airport by Aerosoft’s team, a truly unique new feature was also added. Aerosoft implemented a Follow-Me vehicle script within the General Aviation apron. To make use of this feature, while taxiing, you’ll be required to hold short of a stop-bar and await the arrival of a marshaller in a Follow-Me vehicle. The marshaller will then guide you to your parking stand.
