Aether Simulations, a new developer in the Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) scenery market, sparked considerable excitement within the community when it announced development of Manchester Airport (EGCC) in April.
With established developers such as Macco Simulations existing release and iniBuilds also working on their version of Manchester Airport, some have questioned whether Aether Simulations, as a newcomer, should persist with this project.

Aneesh, a developer at Aether, addressed these concerns on Discord, reaffirming the team’s commitment: “Our focus from day one has been on delivering Manchester with both exceptional visual fidelity and rock-solid performance that holds up on more than just high-end PCs. That mission hasn’t changed, and it won’t”
In a competitive market dominated by well-known developers, it’s understandable that some might doubt a new team’s ability to break into the scene. However, Manchester’s popularity within the flight simulation community -featuring prominently in the schedules of many virtual airlines and the flight plans of enthusiasts replicating real-world routes at this major northern England hub – supports Aether’s stance that the market can accommodate multiple versions.

Aneesh also emphasised Aether’s focus on optimising performance for a wide variety of PC specifications, a detail likely to resonate with users.
Although no updated previews or information have been released since the initial announcement earlier this year, this reaffirmation of ongoing development suggests more details may be forthcoming soon.
