AivlaSoft Offer Pre-release of EFBv2 for MSFS

AivlaSoft’s Electronic Flight Bag is a handy addon that helps with flight planning. It also gives access to flight charts such as approach, SIDs and STARs, and airport information. The interface also allows the user to calculate take-off speeds and power levels needed as well as give accurate weather data. It can be used with FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane 11.

AivlaSoft have been working hard to get the EFB working for MSFS despite issues dealing with the new SDK. They have now taken to their forums to announce a pre-release version of the electronic flight bag that is compatible with the new sim.

In the forums they have made it clear that there are still some kinks to iron out. For instance the EFB does not work with Navigraph’s navdata updates for MSFS but they claim to be working on this. They stress that in order for the EFB to connect to the sim the user must have FSUIPC7 installed. This is currently in beta and is subject to a limited free license.

Other issues they are dealing with include COM-frequency not available to tune, inability to display tarmac layouts in the EFB database and detecting addon airports. Clearly there is still work to be done but AivlaSoft are determined to have a stable and working EFB for MSFS.

Those who already have EFB installed for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane, and want compatibility with MSFS, can simply update to build #120 remembering to update both the client and the server. These are available from the AivlaSoft website as is the full product priced at 59.00 Swiss Francs.
