AuraScenery Releases Aberdeen Airport for MSFS

The developer AuraScenery has released their new scenery of Aberdeen Airport (EGPD) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The release was announced via the iniBuilds Discord server a few days ago.

The airport is located about 10 kilometres from the city centre and is known for its heritage. The airport was established as a Royal Air Force base back in 1934, back then known as Dyce Aerodrome. However, during the Second World War, aircraft at this airfield were moved to East Fingask and only one RAF building remained at this airport to this day.

The airport was then developed to handle commercial operations and its control of it was transferred to the BAA in 1975. In the 1970s, there were regular flights to Moscow and Toronto from here.

In the current century, the airport developed rapidly, with many new routes, and infrastructure improvements. Annually, around 3.1 million passengers go through the airport.

From Aberdeen Airport, there are flights to various destinations on the British Isles, as well as mainland Europe, like Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Gdansk or Bergen. The airport is mostly operated by Loganair, easyJet and TUI.

What AuraScenery Aberdeen Offers?

The scenery offers a short, yet exciting feature list for anyone who wants to fly to and from Aberdeen Airport in Microsoft Flight Simulator. There are more than a hundred detailed buildings and together with the high-quality apron textures, we can expect ground operations to be as realistic as possible. During the night, the airport is lit up with the help of realistic night lighting and custom materials, creating immersive reflections and correct texture behaviour.
