About Gold Coast Airport (YBCG)
Gold Coast Airport, formerly known as Coolangatta Airport is an international airport located at the southern end of the Gold Coast and approximately 90 kilometers south of Brisbane, Australia. The entrance to the airport is situated in the suburb of Bilinga near Coolangatta. The main runway cuts through the state borders of Queensland and New South Wales leading to a unique circumstance. During the summer season, both states are in two different time zones. YBCG observes Queensland time (AEST) which is 10 hours ahead of UTC.
