If you’ve ever had a “where to keep my (virtual) Cessna 182” problem, Backwood Studio now has the solution for you: acquire a 62-acre riverside estate with its own runway. The Sutton on Rogue (FAA LID: 0OR8) add-on is a detailed recreation of the private airfield and equestrian estate in White City, Oregon, available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 via Orbx Direct. The estate is situated on the banks of the Rogue River at the base of Table Rock, featuring a 2,500-foot grass runway, automated hangars, and real-world modelled buildings scaled 1:1 to actual dimensions.

Scenery Features

The scenery includes automated hangars that activate via lighting switches and are compatible with most aircraft types, alongside a fueling station for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Custom night lighting illuminates the estate, though landings after dark are not recommended. Backwood Studio has added custom animated wildlife, waterfalls, and a trophy trout pond fed by the Rogue River with animated fish, enhancing the immersion. The property features a 24-acre equestrian facility with irrigated pastures, an enclosed arena, and barn space, plus a private shooting range. Most buildings, including the main log home residence and historic Allen House, are accessible for foot exploration.

Compatibility and Availability

The developer has mapped an extensive road system for ground vehicle exploration, and when paired with Backwood Studio’s Shady Cove scenery, users can access over 20 miles of custom roads connecting the two airports. The scenery is only available through Orbx Direct for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
