Black Square has released its Caravan Professional Bundle for Microsoft Flight Simulator, bringing one of the most advanced turboprop simulations currently available for both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024.
This package is not a simple upgrade of the default aircraft. Instead, it includes fully rebuilt and highly detailed aircraft with custom systems, sounds, and advanced simulation features, offering a significantly more immersive experience compared to the standard Caravan.
The bundle includes multiple aircraft variants, such as Passenger, Amphibian, and Cargo versions, allowing simmers to perform a wide range of operations across different environments and mission types.
One of the key highlights of the Caravan Professional is its deep systems simulation. The aircraft features over 100 possible failures, including persistent wear, scheduled failures, and random malfunctions affecting nearly every component. These systems can be managed through Black Square’s integrated tablet interface, which also allows users to configure avionics, monitor engines, and control payload directly within the simulator.
The avionics suite offers extensive flexibility, with up to 12 hot-swappable radio configurations. Pilots can choose between classic navigation systems like the Bendix KNS-80 RNAV or more modern solutions such as the Garmin GTN 750/650 (PMS50 or TDS). Additional equipment includes KX-155 radios, KLN-90B, GNS 530/430 units, KAP 140 autopilot, and an RDR1150XL weather radar.
Compared to the earlier Analog Caravan, this new version has been almost entirely rebuilt using Black Square’s latest technology. Improvements include a completely new exterior model, enhanced interior materials, a custom sound package developed by Boris Audio Works, and significantly expanded avionics options. The aircraft also features refined performance tables and a much more advanced turboprop simulation.
Engine behavior has been greatly improved, with detailed simulation of parameters such as ITT, torque, and fuel flow, alongside realistic failure scenarios including compressor stalls, fuel system issues, and propeller governor malfunctions. Additional features include FOD (Foreign Object Damage) simulation, interactive exterior elements such as pitot covers and engine protections, and physics-based instrument behavior.
The aircraft also introduces an advanced environmental and cabin temperature simulation, along with a fully functional tablet system that visualises aircraft systems in real time. The included documentation has also been expanded significantly, with a detailed manual exceeding 140 pages and over 40 in-game checklists covering normal and emergency procedures.
