BlueBird Simulations has released version 1.1 of its Boeing 757 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. This is the first patch for the aircraft since its launch, which was a rocky one. The developer announced the update to its community in a message on its Discord server that also included the full change log.
The 757 is a narrow-body twinjet that Boeing built from the early 1980s until the mid-2000s. It is known for strong climb performance and long range for its size, and it has flown both short domestic routes and transatlantic services. The change log refers to both Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney engine variants, so both receive attention in this patch.

The developer says it is aware that some users are experiencing memory leak issues. It calls this its top priority and says it “will not rest until it’s resolved”. The change log does not list a fix for it, so the problem apparently remains open. The update is installed by restarting the NEST application, which then offers the option to update.
Much of the patch concerns the Electronic Flight Bag. The layout has been reorganised so that all apps and tabs look consistent. Refresh buttons have been added to the weather, NOTAM and performance calculator pages, and the Navigraph login and chart download handling has been corrected. SayIntentions API key fetching has been added, and the Hoppie messaging fix stops repeated messages when the same callsign is used. CPDLC now accepts both letters and numbers.

Several fixes concern handling. Keyboard and Xbox controller thrust lever inputs have been corrected, and rudder input from those devices is now incremental. The nosewheel animation is synchronised with ground steering. The team added a complete Adaptive Flight Control envelope and input evaluation, along with a slider to control the adaptive handling assist.
On the systems side, the team has added TMC and servo failure logic to the EICAS, and refined TMC cruise autothrottle speed control and the GS INHIBIT light behaviour. The ND now draws ADF pointers and approach DME correctly. A vertical path bug involving certain path terminators has been fixed. Developers have also removed or fixed several sources of WASM crashes, adjusted the Pratt & Whitney engine performance, and added an auto step climb option. New L vars expose the VOR and ILS control panel frequencies and courses, as well as stabiliser trim units.

To download the update, use the included NEST app; it should prompt you automatically. You can purchase the Boeing 757 for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 through Just Flight’s store for around 80€.
