Carenado has released their second aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator today. It concerns the Mooney M20R Ovation, a single-engine prop plane. This addon is the second aircraft they release for MSFS. The first was the Cessna C182T, which released at launch.
The Mooney M20R Ovation is the 15th variant of the M20. It started production in 1994. When the production ended in 2001, 226 of these aircraft were produced. The plane has a Continental IO-550-G engine with 280hp. That makes it the strongest engine an M20 ever had. The strong engine gives it a maximum take-off weight of 1528 kg (3368 lb). It has a maximum range of 1350nmi.
The addon uses the default GNS350, but all other systems are custom written. The doors can be opened and wind effects for that are included. It has original sounds, recorded from the real aircraft. It uses PBR Texturing all over the aircraft. A full feature list can be found below.
