Chudoba Design’s latest release brings Bermuda (TXKF|BDA) to X-Plane 11 & 12. This release was recently announced on Facebook and provides a highly detailed rendition of the airport, as well as surrounding scenery, in the sim.
About Bermuda Airport
Originally constructed in 1943, Bermuda Airport serves as the sole airport on the island. The airport features one runway, measuring at a length of 2,958 meters (9705 feet) and can handle all aircraft sizes up to and including the Airbus A380. Bermuda also features a cargo terminal as well as a new passenger terminal that was opened in 2020, handling roughly one million passengers every year.
About Chudoba Designs Bermuda
Chudoba Designs Bermuda features a fully up-to-date layout. This includes the new passenger terminal, which has a modelled interior, including the check-in hall and gate areas. All six jetways are also included and animated in default X-Plane 12, with the X-Plane 11 version utilising SAM for animation. Ground markings have been traced from current images, with hand-drawn runway numbers and markings, paired with PBR ground textures. For X-Plane 12 users, wet puddle effects will be visible in rainy weather. Night lighting has been added to make night-time operations immersive, featuring apron floodlights, lit-up buildings, terminal interior, and landside lights. Airport surroundings feature 3D grass and vegetation, with landside roads, parking areas and roundabouts.

For those who enjoy flying VFR, Chudoba Designs have added plenty of detail to the island as a whole, with close to 21,000 buildings placed using OpenStreetMap data, as well as over 500,000 trees that have been individually positioned based on Sentinel-2 and land use data. Other landmarks such as The Causeway, Longbird Bridge and the harbour are featured. They have also created their own terrain mesh with exact coastlines and NOAA 1 arc-second elevation data, all covered in custom orthophotos that have been colour-matched to Sentinel-2 imagery.
