Cli4D Releases Moorea, French Polynesia for MSFS

Cli4D has created a scenery of Moorea, a volcanic island in French Polynesia for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This follows the developer’s theme of tropical sceneries, on which they mostly focus. This release follows their focused theme of recreating tropical add-ons for the currently largest simulator platform.

The island is located in Tahiti and from the country’s capital, Pepeete, it is just seven minutes away by plane. As mentioned, it is a volcanic island, featuring vibrant flora and tall mountains. It is a part of the Windward Islands.

The island’s name can literally be translated to “Yellow Lizard” in English. Moorea’s population density currently sits at 121 people per square kilometre, and it makes the Pacific Ocean about 130 square kilometres smaller. The highest peak, Mont Tohive’a is 1207 metres AMSL tall. The largest town on this island is called Pao Pao – Maherapa, which inhabits about 4000 people.

Moorea formed about 2.5 million years ago as a result of a volcanic hotspot and is part of the Society Chain of Islands in the Pacific. Its tropical climate makes it a popular destination for many tourists across the Globe. Throughout the year, the temperature holds at around 30 degrees Centigrade, with small differences between seasons.

Cli4D mentions that this is an improvement project to the already existing recreation by Asobo Studio. The developer thus aimed at improved rock formations, coastal areas, better tropical vegetation, human models and even custom buildings with PBR textures.

There are also custom stationary and moving boats. The ground textures also received certain improvements, especially in the hills and mountains. Cli4D added custom, real-life points of interest to their recreation of Moorea. This includes Cook’s Bay Hotel and Suites, Hotel Kaveka, Ta’ahiamanu Public Beach, Te Fare Natura, Legends Resort and much more.
