Contrail Announces Falcon 50 for MSFS at FSExpo 2025

Contrail, the popular marketplace and add-on manager for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has announced its first self-developed aircraft, the Falcon 50 for MSFS.

Contrail, the popular marketplace and add-on manager for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has announced its first self-developed aircraft, the Falcon 50 for MSFS. The announcement was made on stage this FSExpo Friday, where screenshots and other details about the aircraft were also shared.

The Falcon

The Falcon is a family of business jets manufactured by the French company Dassault. The Falcon 50, the model being developed by Contrail, is a midsize trijet derived from the original Falcon 20. The unique engine configuration and design allowed it to reach speeds of up to Mach 0.86 during cruise at flight level 490. Its more than 3500 nm range also made it capable of transcontinental and transoceanic flights. The development of a maritime surveillance version named the Gardian 50 also made it very popular with many militaries, including the French, Italian, and Portuguese air forces, among others.

Contrail’s FA50 will feature many custom-coded systems and avionics, including a GNS-XLS FMS, Apollo MX20 MFD, Collins EFIS suite, and a custom autopilot. From the pictures shown, the external modeling and texturing also appear to be highly detailed.

Though no specific date was given, Contrail’s FA50 is planned for release later in 2025. It will be compatible with both MSFS 2020 and 2024. An announcement trailer is available here.
