COWS Introduces New DA40-XLS For Microsoft Flight Simulator

The developer COWS, also known as Creator of Worlds, responsible for the study-level DA42 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has shared the first previews of the DA40-XLS for the mentioned platform in a short video, as well as screenshots through their Discord server.

So far, we don’t know much about this simulated iteration of this popular Austrian-made general aviation plane. However, we know for sure that namely its flight model is handcrafted with the help of expert instructor feedback, with custom-designed systems and fully customisable circuit breakers. Moreover, there is also EIS, and cylinder physics simulation.

With this in mind, COWS aims to bring a highly detailed simulation of the DA40-XLS. Speaking of the variants, the DA42 includes both TDI and VI engine options. So far, the developer has been speaking only about the XLS option, which has a weaker engine compared to NG. Should the NG option come as well is not yet known.

The DA40-XLS is going to be available for both Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in early 2025. It will also come later for X-Plane 12.
