COWS Releases DA42 for MSFS

The newcomer developer team COWS (Creator Of WorldS) has released its rendition of the Diamond DA42 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The Diamond DA42 Twin Star was developed by the Austrian company Diamond Aircraft and has been in production since 2004. It features a sleek design, carbon composite airframe, and excellent efficiency thanks to its diesel-powered FADEC engines, which use computers to automatically manage mixture and prop settings in flight. These characteristics have made it popular with flight schools looking for a modern, easy-to-operate multi-engine trainer.

The COWS DA42

COWS has developed its rendition of the DA42 with great detail, with thousands of reference photos and scans from a real DA42 used to create the visual model and textures. You can expect photorealistic reflections and textures, an intricate interior model featuring moderate and heavy wear, exterior textures with realistic dirt and wear, and more.

The flight model was tested by real DA42 students and flight instructors to ensure its accuracy in all stages of flight, including odd moments like single-engine operation. The systems include an accurate electrical system with circuit breakers, a custom gear hydraulic simulation, a custom yaw damper, and more.

Developed for Students

Cows intends to continue developing the DA42 to fit students’ needs, with features such as engine damage and random failures coming in the future. A flight school livery pack is also available for download for free from ORBX including liveries for Embry Riddle, KLM Flight Academy, Leading Edge Aviation, and Pilot Flight Academy.

Where to get it

If you’d like to get the COWS DA42, mooove on over to the ORBX store where you can get it for $46.25 AUD (around $30.18 USD and €27.98 EUR).
