CSS Shows New Previews of 737-500 for MSFS

The developer CSS has revealed four new external previews of their recreation of Boeing 737-500 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Initially announced in November 2024, Commercial Simulation Systems (CSS) has decided to bring the Boeing 737 Classic Series to life in the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator. The team represents itself as a community of professionals dedicated to creating innovative products for the platform. Initially, the Boeing 737-500 will be released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, with a free upgrade later on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The four new previews show the external model of this aircraft, both on the ground and in the air under different lighting conditions. In the on-ground previews, we can see the aircraft has some untextured parts that are green including windows, fins and the beacon light on the top of the aircraft.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator’s lighting plays well with the aircraft, and we can clearly see the CSS Boeing 757 reflections and shadowing in action. The mid-flight image at dusk shows a Lufthansa Boeing 737-500 in cruise, with landing lights turned on for demonstration, the livery itself is not as visible, as the image has been taken from the dark side of the aircraft.

Alexander Dementyev from CSS told us that the external model is almost finished, and he is happy with how the team has progressed with the work over the past week. Moreover, beta testing of the aircraft continues, and a custom EFB is now in development.
