Crafted with love by a Detroit native of 25+ years. That is what the product page says of the latest release from DDFlyer Direct – the Detroit and Windsor City Pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Detroit and Windsor are cities across the river, one in Michigan, USA, and the other in Ontario, Canada.
Released in various stores throughout October, the Detroit and Windsor City Pack has now arrived at the Aerosoft store. The scenery features hundreds of handcrafted buildings, boats, monuments, and ground texture improvements to bring the cities of Detroit and Windsor to life in our simulators.

The scenery includes 15 detailed monuments, including the notable Spirit of Detroit with its famous large bronze statue. To accompany those, DDFlyer recreated three stadiums in the city with accurate and animated night lighting to bring the city to life at night. These stadiums include Comerica Park, Little Caesar’s Arena, and the Ford Field. The scenery also comes with 14 new buildings that are otherwise left out in the default simulator.
Since photogrammetry often poses an issue in cities in Microsoft Flight Simulator, DDFlyer ensured that this would not be the case in his Detroit and Windsor City Pack scenery. It comes with custom street and sidewalk textures to remove baked shadows from satellite data, as well as fixed water under local bridges, which have been enhanced in the scenery with custom models.
All the previously mentioned features were brought to the simulator with PBR textures and optimized for the best performance. Several animations bring the city to life, including Detroit’s “People Mover,” flags, or light sequences on objects.
You can purchase the Detroit and Windsor City Pack for MSFS from DDFlyer at the Aerosoft store for €8, VAT excluded, or through Contrail for 8€, also VAT excluded.
